Common Habits Which Are Really Bad For You

When talking about bad habits, the majority of us start thinking about things like smoking or about eating junk food. However, what many of us do not realize is that there are some bad habits that we have that are actually bad for our own health.

Today we have made a list of such bad common habits which are really for you.

Brushing teeth too hard

While it seems logical that if you brush the teeth harder, it will make them cleaner but it is not right at all. It is recommended by the dentist to only apply as much pressure that you can feel the bristles of the toothbrush on your gums.

Squashing the bristles into the teeth can cause permanent damage to gums and the tooth enamel.

Multitasking

There is a stereotype about women that they are all multitaskers. In fact, the population of women that can do multitasking is even less than 2 percent who can perform multitasking effectively.

The best way to work around the house is to focus on one thing at a time and soon your efficiency will improve on the said task.

Obsessing over the things which are out of control

Obsessing over the things which are out of control

The fact is that a person cannot change what other people are doing and if a person keeps on stressing about this fact, it will still not change. One thing that will change is their one health. It is best to use that energy and time of overthinking about things on yourself to get better and improved and be a better version of your own self.

While we do not say that a person should become indifferent to others, what we are saying is to not obsess over something which you do not have control over.

Catastrophizing

Catastrophizing is the step ahead of Obsessing and if you are the one who suffers from it, believe us, it is not the end of the world no matter what you are overthinking about.

Instead, constant overthinking actually causes the body to release a lot of stress hormones which cause considerable damage to a person’s physical as well as mental health. Like them developing the following conditions.

  • Anxiety
  • Depression
  • Stomach disorders
  • Heart diseases

In the words of “Timon and Pumba” say “Hakuna Matata” to everything and just find inner peace.

Procrastination

It is a common thing that most of us are procrastinators at some level but the real danger is when this bad habit gets out of control of the person. In this case, the person keeps pushing off their assignments or projects until the last day of when they are due causing them to get in huge trouble at their school or at their job.

Negative body language

While we all heard the phrase, “Do Not Judge a book by its cover” in real life people do see a book by its cover.

Experts say that the majority of our communication is dependent on our non-verbal signs. A person can analyze themselves for negative body signs like the following which can be misinterpreted by the others.

  • Slouching
  • Defensive poses
  • Aggressive Eye contact

For those of you, who find even one of them; try to eliminate them from your system at once.

Using painkillers all the time

When painkillers are not used in a proper manner, they can be really harmful to the human body. Like their excessive use can lead to a person developing the following conditions.

  • Memory issues
  • Mood swings
  • Lack of focus
  • Slowed reaction period

The effects from the excessive use of painkillers are slow and a person might not even notice them being developed. As for physical health, excessive use of painkillers can lead to a person having an increased risk of developing Ulcers and internal bleeding.
