Keeping the wallet in the back pocket

Any person who keeps a wallet knows that the best place to have it on your person is to keep it in the back pocket. While this is a very convenient place it still is not the healthiest option. Sitting on a wallet for as little as 15 minutes can cause the spine shit as well as the spine alignments to start changing.

This can result in asymmetry of the spine causing it to have disrupted alignment. Some conditions that can arise from sitting on the wallet are as follows.

Bringing the electronic gadgets to bed

According to recent studies, it has been proven that going to bed with your electronic gadgets can deprive you of the precious sleep time along with reducing the quality of overall sleep.  

Regular use of the electronics before bed not only disrupts the sleep quality but also causes a person to gain weight along with weight suffering from daytime fatigue. In other side effects, productivity levels decrease, learning ability is hindered and stress levels rise. As a precaution it is better to stay from electronic gadgets at least one hour before going to bed.

Washing hands with the hot water

According to various studies, both cold and hot water are equally effective in killing harmful germs. In fact, the cold water has been proven to be healthier for washing hands as compared to cold water.

Washing hands with the hot water actually cause the skin to become softer resulting in the hands to be more susceptible to germs.

Drinking straight from the plastic bottles

While many of you might assume that drinking from plastic bottles is not that big of a deal but plastic is actually really harmful to drink from especially when it has been exposed to high temperatures.

If a person leaves the water bottle in a car where it gets heated up, the plastic releases a toxic chemical named Bisphenol A that makes the water contaminated. Drinking this contaminated water results in the endocrine system to be affected along with the risk of developing breast cancer and endodermatitis.

Eating food really quickly

This is no brainer; eating food rather too quickly can cause some serious health problems. Eating faster can result in a person to gain weight as well as be at risk of developing the following diseases.

  • Heart disease
  • Diabetes
  • Stroke

Brushing teeth right after a meal

For those who care a lot about their oral hygiene, they like to brush their teeth right after a meal. However, experts suggest that a person should wait at least 30 minutes before brushing their teeth. Teeth are covered with protective enamel and foods which we consume can cause the enamel to wear away. This means that right after a meal; the teeth are most susceptible to damage.

Fortunately, the body can balance the pH level of mouth with salvia but it takes time for saliva to do its work. In short, brushing after a meal right away is actually destroying your own teeth. Experts recommend that wait for a bit to let the saliva balance the acidic levels from the food consumed during the meal and then brush afterward.

Cleaning ears using cotton swabs

Cleaning ears with the cotton swab is actually more damaging than healthy. According to multiple, studies, cleaning ears with cotton swab causes the ear wax to be pushed further inside the ear canal which can lead to following conditions.

  • Infections
  • Perforated eardrums
  • Impacted earwax
  • Tinnitus

The recommendation of experts is to let the earwax fall out of the ear on its own. Earwax actually is a natural filter for our ears which prevents the dust and the dirt to enter inside. Cleaning the ears from this earwax causes the ear canal to be exposed to the pollution outside.

Using the hand dryer

While hand dryers are an eco-friendly solution for bathrooms; they are certainly not a hygiene one. A study conducted revealed that that hand dryer installed in the bathrooms actually cause the hands to be contaminated with fecal germs. The hand dryers use the blowing air to clean the hands but they are actually causing the bacteria roaming in the space to also get spread on the hands.

Using a lot of salt in the food

Although salt is inarguably the crucial condiment to make the food tasty; too much of it is never a healthy option. Amount of slat that a person consumes on a daily basis can actually harm their health. Salt has been linked as the cause of the following diseases.

  • Heart disease
  • Blood pressure
  • Stomach cancer

Slat causes the body to retain water and eating extra salt can cause blood pressure to rise. High blood pressure can cause negative strain on the heart, kidney and the arteries.

Sleeping too often and too much

Sleeping is the time of the day when the body gets a chance to repair itself from all the daily wear and tear. However, it would be wrong to assume that sleeping more can actually be healthy for the human body. In fact, oversleeping brings a lot of health hazards into play.

While the daily sleep time varies from person to person, the general sleeping limit is somewhere in between 7 to 9 hours. Sleeping too much too often can lead to a risk of developing the following conditions.

  • The high rate of mortality
  • Depression
  • Heart disease
  • Obesity
  • Impaired functioning of the  brain
