Effective Ways to Get Rid of Neck Pain

According to a survey, an average adult person spends almost 2 to 4 hours tapping, typing or swiping on their mobile phones. It is not hard to understand fact that this electronic addiction can often lead to serious health conditions with constant looking down on your devices. This can lead to additional pressure on the front and back of your neck.

Tennis ball massage

To perform this tennis ball massage, this is what you need to do.

  • Grab hold of a tennis ballad n start massaging the base of your skull in different ways.
  • If a certain area feels tightened, add pressure on it for 20 to 30 seconds. Then release the pressure and continue it again.

A tennis ball helps restore the mobility of your neck as it digs deeper into soft tissues and also breaks up the tightness and stiffness of the muscles.

Bow Pose

To perform bow pose, this is what you need to do.

  • Lie flat on stomach
  • Chin should be placed at floor and arms at the sides.
  • Grab hold of your both ankles with hands.
  • Inhale a short breath and lift the heels upward to the ceiling. Your thighs in this condition should be away from the floor.
  • Pull the upper torso and head off the floor next.
  • Hold this position for 10 seconds.
  • Slowly lower your body to initial position and exhale slowly.

The Bow Pose fixes the rounded shoulders by opening them from the front as well as it strengthens the muscles.

Camel Pose

To do this pose, this is what you need to do.

  • Kneel on the floor with your knees width apart and thighs in perpendicular to the floor.
  • Put hands on your pelvis with palms on top of buttocks.
  • Pull your tail area forward.
  • Lena upper torso backward.
  • Grab both feet with hands.
  • Lower the head back and hold this pose for 30 seconds.
  • Slowly return to initial position.

Camel Pose helps the body to relieve the stiffness in the neck area mostly muscles as well as increase the mobility.

To do this pose, this is what you need to do.

  • Lie down flat on stomach with legs stretched and feet placed on the floor.
  • Put the hands under your shoulders.
  • Inhale and begin to lift the chest off the floor from the strength of your arms.
  • Press the tailbone towards the floor while curling the spine.
  • Slowly lower your head backward until a stretch is felt.
  • Hold the pose for 30 seconds and then real slowly to return back to initial position.

The pose is helpful for the front muscles of the neck. They also realign the shoulders to restore the natural curve.

The chin tuck exercise

To perform this exercise, this is what you need to do.

  • Sit straight and place the finger on chin.
  • Keep eyes on the horizon and push the chin down towards the throat until a stretch is felt at the base of the head.
  • Hold the position for 5 seconds and bring the chin back to original position. Repeat the process 10 times.

This exercise helps align the head directly over torso as well as relieve the compression of the spine. The tightness around muscles of the neck is also reduced.
