Last time we presented to you some amazing yoga poses to help you boost up your metabolism. Now we are back with some more yoga poses to help boost the metabolism. This time the yoga poses we introduce are a little hard to perform but with sufficient practice and conviction, one can easily master them.
Bridge Pose (Setu Bandhasana)
The yoga pose known as Bridge Pose is the one that causes stimulation to the thyroid gland as well as abdominal organs of the human body. This leads to a better digestive system and that causes the proper regulation of metabolism.
In addition to this, it also improves the blood circulation to make a person more active during eh morning time.
- To start the pose off, lie on your back straightly
- Now bend the knees and place the feet on the ground flat while being at hip-width apart
- Place the arms beside your sides
- While inhaling, slowly raise your hips off from the floor while keeping the feet firmly on the ground
- Now start raising the body parts slowly upwards as well while shifting he body weight to the shoulders
- Maintain the pose for 30 seconds and take few deep breaths
Locust Pose (Salabasana)
When performing the Locust Pose, the entire weight of the body is focused on the abdominal muscles which provide a gentle massage to the digestive organs, thus causing it to improve. A healthy digestive system means a bigger boost to the metabolism rate of the body.
It also provides the strength to the back muscles.
- Start off by lying straight on your stomach
- Keep both arms beside your sides with palms facing upwards
- Now slowly inhale and lift the head, chest, and hands upwards from the ground
- Hold the pose for 30 seconds while taking deep breaths
- Repeat the pose 3 times
Crescent Moon Pose (Ardha Chandrasana)
Like the tree pose, Crescent Moon Pose is also a standing yoga pose that helps to improve the metabolism. It might be a little challenging for the legs but it still provides the following benefits.

- Relief from stress, fatigue as well as anxiety
In addition to this, it also strengthens the core and prevents any digestive problems to boost metabolism.
- Start by standing straight on the ground with feet being at hi-width apart and arms being placed at the sides
- While inhaling slowly raise both hands over the head and press both palms firmly together
- Now while exhaling, slowly bend to one side until your form a crescent shape
- Hold the pose for 30 seconds while taking deep breaths
- Now while inhaling, return to the normal position with hands still kept over the head
- Repeat the same pose for the opposite side
Plow Pose (Halasana)
The Plow Pose aims to improve the digestive system which in turn provides a boost to the metabolism. It provides a gentle massage to the digestive organs that promote natural detoxification. In addition to this, it causes the blood circulation to improve while giving a mild stimulation to the thyroid gland which is essential for the body’s metabolic functioning.
It is best advised to perform this pose after the body is sufficiently warmed up.
- Start off by lying flat on your back with legs and hands both extended on the sides
- While inhaling, slowly lift your legs off of the floor from the power of abdominal muscles.
- Make sure to raise your legs at a 90 degrees vertical angle
- Now by using your hands, provide support to lift the hips and the back off of the floor
- At this point, starting bending he legs at a 180 degrees angle and pass them over the head until the toes touch the floor. Make sure to keep the back perpendicular to the floor
- Hold the pose for few seconds while slowly inhaling and exhaling.
- After a few moments, while inhaling and exhaling slowly, brings the legs back to the original position.
