Natural Remedies to Get Rid of Sunspots

While everyone loves bright sunny days, some people have to be careful of the sunlight as it can damage their kin more than usual. For everyone, before going outside on a particularly sunny day, it is recommended to apply sunscreen. These tips help a person be safe from developing diseases like following.

  • Cancer
  •  Hyperpigmentation
  • Premature aging

Today we have gathered a list of natural remedies to get rid of sunspots that make use of natural everyday ingredients.

Fruit

Lemon

Lemon contains Citric acid that acts as a natural bleaching agent.

You can apply it over the skin by squeezing some fresh lemon juice over a cotton pad and rubbing it over the face. 

Use this remedy 3 times a day. If irritation is felt, reduce the number of applications. 

Papaya:

Papaya is enriched with enzymes that give it peeling properties.

Either grate or mash papaya to make it in a puree form. Apply this puree over face and let it sit for 20 minutes.

It is recommended to use this remedy only in the morning and in the evening.

Watermelon:

Watermelon is enriched with vitamin A, B, and C. the watermelon’s water is also helpful in making the skin appear toned.

Take some watermelon flesh and make a pulp of it. Apply this pulp on the sunspot skin area and rub it gently. Let it sit for 20 minutes before rinsing it off.

Vegetables

Red Onions:

Red onion has an acidic nature that helps to treat the dark spots by making them less visible.

Mix 1 tbsp of red onion juice in 2 tbsp of honey and mix them both well. Store it in the fridge for cooling down. Apply the mixture over the dark spots as well as over the whole face. Let it sit for 15 minutes before rinsing it off with warm water to get that nasty odor out.

Use this remedy twice a week as the odor of this is too strong to get rid of.

  Tomato:

Tomato is already famed for whitening effects on the facial skin. Korean women, who are crazy about porcelain like facial complexion, mostly use tomato based beauty products which in fact has a whole line in Korea. Tomatoes are also known as Super Foods.

Simply squeeze out the juice of tomato and apply it over the face. Let it sit for 10 minutes and rinse off afterward with warm water.

Cucumber: 

Cucumber is packed with Vitamin C that makes it able to moisturize the skin as well as get rid of dark spots.

Put 2 slices of cucumber under the eyes in order to remove dark circles. Mash another slice to mix in it some glycerine. Apply it over the whole face. Let it sit for 15 minutes before rinsing it off with cool water.

Spices

Turmeric:

Turmeric is a colorful spice that is packed with antiseptic properties.

Mix some turmeric in any of the essential oils or honey to make a thick paste. Apply it over the face and let it sit for 15 minutes.

Rinse afterward with cool water to have a whitening effect.

Sandalwood:

Sandalwood is effective in eliminating hyperpigmentation as well as reducing the dullness of the facial skin.

Mix some sandalwood powder with lemon juice and rose water to make a paste. Apply it over the face and let it dry on its own.  Rinse afterward with cool water.

Another remedy is to mix the powder with Vitamin E oil in 1:2. Apply it over the face and let is it overnight. Afterward, rinse it off with cool water.
