Natural Remedies To Prevent Irritation After Shaving

Cornstarch or baby powder

You can also sue over the counter baby powders. For those who don’t want to sue baby powder, mix some cornstarch in water to make a paste. Apply this on the affected skin area and let it sit for 15 minutes.

Honey

Honey has been sued for centuries to treat wounds and other skin problems. For irritated skin problems, honey is proven to work almost like magic due to its strong anti-inflammatory and ant-microbial properties.

Apply raw and organic honey on the affected area and let it sit for 15 minutes. Rinse it off afterward with lukewarm water.

Oils

Oils like Olive oil, Vitamin E oil, and Tea Tree oil are known for their soothing and anti-inflammatory properties. Olive oil is best renowned for its great effect of reprint he skin’s natural skin barrier function. Tea tree oil offers antibacterial and soothing effect for itchy skin. As for Vitamin E oil, it contains antioxidant properties which allow it to be helpful for treating various skin problems.

Choose any of these oils and apply them with cotton pads over the razor burns. Natural plant oils can be applied directly over the skin while essential oils need to be mixed with water for use.

Cool compress

Applying some cool pressure is amongst some of the simplest and effective ways to have relief from irritation. Aspirin

Apart from the medicinal use of the Aspirin, people around the globe have found many DIY uses for Aspirin. One such use of Aspirin is for using it as a home remedy for treating skin rash and irritation. When aspirin is applied over the affected area, its anti-inflammatory agent lessens the pain and irritation caused by after shaving burns.

To use it, dissolve 2 aspirin tablets in water and make a paste of them. Apply this over the affected skin area and let it sit for 15 minutes.

If you have sensitive skin, then avoid topical use of aspirin.

Aloe Vera

Applying Aloe Vera is one of the most well-known treatments for treating almost any skin problem. It is not only a great moisturizer; it also has antibacterial properties which provide instant relief from irritated and damaged skin.

To use it, simply take a leaf of Aloe Vera and squeeze out the gel-like substance of it. Apply it over the affected area and let it dry. Rinse it off with warm water.
