Natural Ways to Fix The Brittle and Weak Nails

It does not matter if you are into nail polish or not or if your nails are long or short; shiny and strong nails always look strong and good that also indicate the general good health of a  person. While some of us are lucky in terms of good nails, others can continually improve their nails.

There are a bunch of natural ways to treat your brittle and weak nails.

Vitamin E

Vitamin E oil helps to better the nail condition and also improves the nail bed. This oil is famed for not only strengthening but also repairing the damaged and brittle nails as well as heals the cuticles. It has the effects to improve blood circulation as well as the growth of nails.

Apply the vitamin E oil directly on the nails and the nail beds.

Coconut oil

Coconut Oil, which is a good oxidant, protects the nails from the negative effects of the free radicals. It also contains antibacterial and antifungal properties.

Always apply lukewarm coconut oil on nails and the skin around the nails. Massage the oil until it is absorbed by the skin around nails.

Apple cider vinegar

ACV is very helpful for the following effects on nails.

  • Strengthening the nails
  • Softening the cuticles
  • Allowing nails to grow faster

Only add 1 tbsp of ACV in a warm glass of water and soak the nails in it for a few minutes.

Tea tree oil

The tea tree oil has strong antiseptic and antifungal properties. However, it is advised to use the tea tree oil with a carrier oil.

Mix 2 drops of it in ½ a tbsp of Olive Oil, Almond oil or Coconut oil. Apply this oil on the nails and the ski around them for few minutes.

Lemon juice

Lemon is enriched with Vitamin C that offers increased collagen production and also makes the nails stronger. Lemon juice also contains a substance called alpha-hydroxy acid that lightens the nails and heal any of their microcracks.

Squeeze half a lemon juice and mix it in 1 cup of warm water. Soak your nails in it for 5 minutes.

Flaxseed oil

Flaxseed Oil is enriched with following that help the nails to grow faster.

  • Fatty acids
  • Minerals
  • Antioxidants

Apply flaxseed oil directly over the nails and massage them or few minutes.
