You can prevent your kids from eating acidic foods like fruit juices which contain lemon, orange, pineapple or cranberry.

Also avoid giving dairy products right before bedtime because it can cause your child to feel sleepier and will hinder their ability to wake up even when their bladder is full. Same goes for anything that contains high quantity of sugar or caffeine like chocolate, tea, coke or any other carbonated drink.

Make a mid night bathroom break schedule:-

Usually children are heavy sleepers and for them it is hard to get up in the middle of night when their bladders are full. You can establish a routine of waking them up in the middle of the night on purpose for a bathroom break to empty their full bladders.

Double up on Magnesium:-

According to a research, Kids who have problems of bed wetting lack Magnesium in their diet. Lack of magnesium causes the nervous system to be less responsive making the child unaware when they need to use the toilet.

Instead of giving your kids artificial supplements jut incorporate foods in your kid’s diet that have sufficient amount of magnesium in them common foods with plenty of magnesium are s follows.

  • Sesame seeds
  • Avocados
  • Bananas
  • Salmon
  • Tofu

Giving them rewards:-

Positive reinforcement and rewarding your child for activities they can control is a very helpful step in a kid’s growth. However do not reward them for the nights they stayed dry because if they don’t they will feel like they have failed and this will have more negative impact than a helpful one.

You can try giving them rewards for things that are directly related to avoid bed wetting like the following.

  • Drink plenty of water in the mornings but avoid lots of fluid in the evening
  • Eat the meals that are rich in Magnesium
  • Go to toilet before bed
